Our Mission 

AFEF is a non-profit dedicated to the conservation of the African forest elephant, one of the most threatened species of elephant. Our mission is to protect the African forest elephant and its habitat through research, education, and advocacy. We strive to create a better future for these animals, and to raise awareness of the issues they face.

By working with local communities and partnering with conservation organisations around the world, we are able to make a real difference in the lives of African forest elephants. Our work has helped to get 'Boots on the Ground', working with local communities to fight wildlife crime, in at least three vital habitats for this magnificent animal.
